Okay, so I'm sure most of you know that I'm VERY into self expression and being able to use your body to so. My hair, my clothes, and especially tattoos. I absolutely love tattoos, I love having them, I love getting them, and I love the stories they can tell.


I went Saturday and got a new tattoo, one that I've wanted for years and just never knew where to get it or what exactly I wanted. I'll post a pic from my phone in a few.

Whilst talking to the artist, the topic of sleeves came up, I've always wanted leg sleeves, easily covered, private if I want them to be, or on display if I so choose.

So... The process of getting a sleeve starts with picking a theme. I've had a few ideas, but am struggling for ideas. So if you have an idea about a theme for a sleeve, post it! They are all welcome, the artist said some people get themes from others and find a hidden theme within. I just want ideas thrown around. Stuff to think about.

She passed away 6 and a half years ago. And was a huge part of my life.

Centi I mean sleeves, which are full leg tattoos

I see.. is that a picture of one of your tattoos? because then it would have to be something that goes well with that otherwise the tattoos will clash.. I think that black and hot pink go well together for a girl. I like the black tribal art with trippy patterns myself ... what were you thinking of getting? what colours? cuz what you describe is allot of work. probably hundreds and hundreds of dollars.. maybe even closer to a thousand

Lol that's my newest tattoo that is on my foot. It would be completely separate from any sleeve UNLESS intentionally incorporated. I do like the tribal tattoos and I've thought about doing one leg as tribal art.
I generated this thread in hopes of getting actual sleeve ideas so I can figure out what I want to get. Yes they are expensive and require hours of tattooing, but I still want one. I'm even considering a full leg sleeve instead of just a half.

Yeah I've thought about something like that bro, but I would like it to be colorful. I don't want a bunch of solid black.

I have no valid response to this thread other than, i hope you pick something you'll be happy with for another 60 years.

Oh, don't forget, in about 10-20 years they'll be all stretched and droopy, not at all what the look like new : )

Nice to say to her that she will be physically ruined at 30-40 ;)

My mom get tatooed (back) and pierced (belly) at 47 (shes now 59) and her tatoo is not flappy. I agree that legs are pretty flappy area when u get old but if u maintain yourself not a big deal imo...

If u want colors maybe plan some "yakuza" style sleeve, otherwise most of sleeve i've seen are full black

Aren't sleeves arms, not legs.

A shirt has sleeves. Pants do not have sleeves, they have legs.

Just do a gaming one. Duke Nukem, Lara Croft, heaps of weps.

I don't think a full sleeve could be built off of that idea TD. I know i would run out of things to suggest he add to it lol

well you could get something that is wispy but trippy. that way it doesn't cover your whole leg but covers the expanse of your whole leg. like a trippy coloured vine with flowers or something.. maybe get leopard spots if not a vine

maybe u should do some thing thats already part of an arm so like maybe an armor, or scales or like an animal print or something.

Thus far I'm thinking one leg may be underwater type theme. Not 100% sure yet. I hadn't thought this through before though. I can't start the sleeve until after summer. Or I won't be able to wakeboard/jet ski.
