Steam account hacked

Just a heads up that my steam account has been hacked. For those of you that are on my friends list, if you get any nasty messages, it is not me sending them. I've sent a ticket in to steam support, but i don't know how good or bad they are.

P.S. I still haven't found my COD4 disc yet either.

This happened to me... twice.

as long as you have proof of purchase for atleast one game(key code) then you'll get it back in at most 2 days

Yeah I've seen this a few times on the forum, that Steam has been hacked, is it a bad thing to have Steam or was it easy passwords to figure out?

Easy way to secure Your steam account is to enable the thing that makes you get a code from your email whenever an unknown computer tries to login (correct PW or no.)

Felon is thinking of steam guard. But if the hacker can break your password, I don't think steam guard can do much.

Soda unless you use the same PW for steam and ur email, then the password is useless without the code (unless the hacker is using YOUR computer.)

Right. I have started the steam account hijack appeal and i logged in as my son and spoke to the guy who has control of the account. He said that he bought the account from a site, when i asked him what site, he gave me a link to a steampowered.ru that redirected to an email account. I told him he had to give me my account back or i would be contacting the police. This seemed to shake him up a bit

Tell it that if it doesnt get off ur account, you will press charges to the fullest extent. Thats how i got my first runescape account back about 4 years ago

I doubt that he obtained animal's plassword through guessing. So whatever program can break animal's steam password may very well be able to break into his email as well.

or possibly he entered his password into a fake site. some dude claiming steam was giving free games gave me a link. the page looked like a steam login but really it wasn't steampowered. i lol'd at him and reported.
