Dude, if possible you want to get a card with DX11. Future games will be utilizing this. If you go to newegg.com and search video cards you will find there are many options from under $100 to over $500. You just need to make sure it will fit in your case.

These are both very good options. The 1st one has a minimum requirement of 400w psu and the 2nd needs 450w. You need to check your PSU cables and see if you have any 6 pin that are not in use. If you have one you are good to go.
You can go for an NVIDIA card but they do not have DX11 yet. Older NVIDIA cards like the 250, 260 ,275, 285 or 295 series are all very good cards if you choose that route. In my opinion I would go with a card that offers DX11 as that is what's in the future for games. Also, XFX has the better warranty so keep that in mind when shopping

first of all he has a low profile computeer, and i already found him a card. and dx11 is long ways to go before it becmes a need. and those cards you listed arnt very powerful for dx11. the card 1 gave him has dx11 too but not gonna be for dx11 gameing. ati is just putting dx11 to try and get a jump infront of nvidia. when nvidias bombass dx11gpu comes out its minez
The cards I listed were just examples of DX11 cards that fit his budget. Also, as you may know, computers get old fast. That is why it makes sense to purchase a card that is DX11, Nvidia or ATI, who cares. The only reason I mention ATI is that there's is out already and have had time to sort out issues, glitches, etc.
A game comes out in 6months that you really want but is dx11, the card you bought 6 months ago is not, now you hate yourself. Get the idea?
I bought my CPU case HAF 922 because I know that I will need room for the 5970 I want as it's a long card, get the idea?
