Screen fitting on tv

Okay so I switched from DVI to VGA to DVI to HDMI today and using the HDMI it miss adjusts the screen. So I can barely see the top of my browser, the sides are all cut off, and the bottom tool bar is half missing. This can't be fixed in the setting through control panel I already tried that. My step dad says there's a program to fix the problem but isn't sure what it is. Does anyone know a way of fixing this? It affects me in game as well, seeing as I'm missing part of my screen...

If you're running the pc out to the tv and using that as a monitor you need to adjust the screen size of the tv. Try the "screen fit" setting instead of 16:9 or w/e it's set on.

I'm not sure since I've never hooked up a tv to my computer. Damage's post seems logical though. That's certainly the first thing I would try.

Yeah I tried the 16:9 and that's what its originally set on apparently because its the same problem. I've heard there might be a setting on the tv that fixes it, I'm just looking for it

Lol, yes, its screen fit. 16:9 doesn't fit the screen when using my pc as a monitor, at least on my tv. Use the "screen fit" setting.
