CoD4 crashing my computer, inactive in servers until fixed

Call of Duty 4 has been crashing my computer every time after about 10-15 minutes, and it's been happening since I started bridging my ethernet xbox connection and my laptop. I delete the bridge when I'm done since it interferes with alterIWnet. But I'm not sure how to fix cod4 since even after deleting the bridge and unplugging the xbox cable it still does it.
Inactive until fixed. any ideas?

Does it give you any sort of error message or does it just crash to desktop?

no, i mean the computer freezes entirely and the sound skips and I have to pull my battery out of my laptop.
I do stop bridging 517 but the crashes have continued since anyways.

Sometimes, it minimizes and goes black. Then I have to unplug my comp. Reloading should help. I had to re-install a few days ago and it hasn't froze up since.

I think it's network related.
I was playing singleplayer earlier and I was fine.
