Yep thats pretty much what everyone uses for epic parts in their movies nowadays. You can recognize it in mostly everything.
The first time I watched that movie I was like OMG THIS IS SO INTENSE AND SAD.
Every time after I realized how bloated with drama it is and how unrealistic it is.
Still, the music totally floored me the first time, and it was the only thing that remained intense in future viewings.
