Great tablet. I think it will make a nice DENT in the apple ipad market. If you look at these side by side, you will find pretty much no reason to buy an ipad. 200 dollars vs 500 dollars. You could buy 2 and give one to your family. They pretty much did what apple did when they released the ipad. They created a whole new market for themselves.

Being that it's really directed at Amazon's own content, which is quite large, it seems pretty good.
Problem with Kindle is that their ebooks anyway are only really readable with their own devices.

Well if you own one this isn't really a problem lol. Plus it's not like their content is totally un-findable on the internet. My sister has a sony e reader that reads pretty much any kind of text based and image file formats (including pdf). Harry potter isn't being published for e books so I just did a little searching and I found someone who made a pdf file of the whole series.

The whole idea of an eReader, is that it uses eInk instead of an LCD, so you can read an entrie book between charges. I have the Kobo, which supports many file formats. The Kindle ones actually support the fewest. Once they turn into fancy video players they stop being an eBook and then you may as well use a laptop. Or Joes favorite,,,,the iPad!

I don't need a Kindle that can play Fruit Ninja where the whole point of "Kindle" is an e-reader, which the original still does more than satisfactorily.
