Join the action in the Open Beta on our Operation Métro map! The Open Beta goes live on September 29th.

We are happy to announce that the eagerly awaited Battlefield 3 Open Beta starts Thursday, September 29th!

Running until October 10th, the Battlefield 3 Open Beta is your chance to play the game early, try out our free social platformBattlelog, and help us make the game even better by sending us your valuable feedback.

If you pre-order Battlefield 3 (PC digital download version) on Origin before September 25th, or if you have registered your first-hand copy (by activating its Online Pass) of Medal of Honor: Limited Edition/Tier 1 Edition, you will get 48 hours early access to the Beta, meaning you can start playing Tuesday, September 27th. The full details on how you will be granted early acess is available on our new Beta section.

For Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, the Open Beta will be visible on the consoles' digital marketplaces under Battlefield 3. For PC, you need to install Origin and download the Open Beta from within the Origin application.

Just a heads up. You need to register and download something called Origin in order to install the game.

Played for 30 mins or so, game so far is meh. Wasn't impressed too much. Hopefully the full release will be a lot better. The whole system in the beta is horrible. Having to pick servers and launch the game from a web browser, game going into windowed mode every time you change a setting. Also lost connection to three different servers in 30 mins.

My FPS were not the good either despite running a pretty decent card in the 2gb 6950. Dropped below 30 quite a few times.

Yea a driver update fixes that lag. After I upgraded my 6950 drivers to the bf3 optimized I had my frames jump up to 50-60 fps outdoors and sometimes higher than that.

Here is my thread http://www.kkkgaming.com/showthread...ecent-hardware-Click-here!!&p=80884#post80884 on drivers
