Hey guys,
First I would like to apologize for not being around on forum that much... I hope that I haven't offended any of my old buddies. But the main reason for this was to make an announcement. The guys that knew me before know the career that I'm pursuing, it is one that I must devote my entire life to. It was for this reason alone that I must regretfully say that I will leave soon and must no longer return here to this forum and the game while I am still on my present course.
I have wasted a good five years of my life on the computer and internet, using my time from indifferent to bad things. Over this vacation I have done little better and I have to stop it now. I cannot allow myself to throw away all the progress I have made over several months into the bottomless pit that is the computer every time I return on vacation. I have postponed this decision for some time due to my laziness and fear of doing what is so repulsive to me, just putting my foot down and saying enough is enough. But most of all because of my affection for this clan and all you in it. I have enjoyed your company and comradeship immensely over the last year. (nearly two years of membership wow!) Believe me this is no easy decision here being something of a computer addict, but I am tired of coming home with all these resolutions and a big book list and then just spending 4+ hours every day on the computer.
In this I feel very much as an alcoholic trying to reform would in that I know that I can never do it in moderation. It will be all or nothing. I know myself well enough for that by now. Please, my friends, don't take this personally at all; I will remember you all fondly and pray for you. As I said before I will not return unless I become satisfied that I should be pursuing a different life. However I will for practical purposes allow myself the use of email only. So if any of you would like to keep in touch, I would be very happy to do so, just PM me and I can send you my email, password and Social Security number.
I will hang around for another week to give everyone my goodbyes and play a few farewell games. So that I am given no excuse I will give the date of my pulling the plug on my computer as Sunday, September 18. Thank you all for everything that I have enjoyed so much here and the things (the good things
) that I have learned from you. Thanks to all my friends, I promise I won't forget you. Thank you especially to Wally for founding this Krew and making all this possible for us!
