Our provider want us to change over to the "new billing system" as we are on the old system still.

Advantage is, they are offereing some sweet deals on the new system, and will re-contract us with no early termination fees (which is great considering that I got a new Nokia N8 3 months ago)

But what phone?

I can:

Keep my Nokia N8 with its totally kick ass 12mp camera and xenon flash, (Symbian OS, FTL)
Get an iPhone 4
Wait for the iPhone 5
Get the new Samsung Galaxy S II (Android, woot)
Go HTC

Thoughts?

If the iPhone5 gets a bigger screen come October, DO ET!How do you like your wife's iPhone 4? The OS is smooth and intuitive. Once jailbroken, it pwns y0! :)

Samsung Galaxy S II ALL THE WAY. Seriously it's amazing. Best phone on the market right now. Too bad it's not in the US ATM

Fuck the iPhone and it's static icons. This ain't 2007 anymore apple, it's time to move on. I had an iphone 3gs for a while, and an iphone 4 for about 3 days. 3gs was cool for the time I had it but once I tasted android, never goin back to static icons in iOS. Which is why I didn't keep the iphone 4, I sold it days after I got it.

Err, the wife only has iPhone 3gs. It's got plenty of funky apps, but apart form that, it's like Joe said.
I really like my customisable home screen.
My wife has poo pooed on the Samsung BTW, I may still go for it

the only good thing about the N8 was the camera the rest was rubbish. id get the sony ericsson play, arc or neo. the misses has the sony play and ive got the arc (LT15i) and they are both good phones. the play is nice as you can play game when your bored waiting for someone etc

Engadget is a known apple fanboy website, they love the iphone. Yet they gave SGSII a 9/10, same rating as iphone. They do a full hardware and software review. Also check out that browser performance. Mind blowing. Also it can play 1080p normal videos as well as FLASH 1080p videos. I'd like to see some other phones try that.

So these are all good thoughts and everything, but I really think you need to go more toward the android side. Honestly, I don't have anything against Apple, in fact, I'm invested in Apple, but Android has a more open OS....way easier to modify settings to your liking. The new Motorola Droid Bionic is coming out the first week of September. That's the phone I'm holding out for . . . Look up some of the specks on this little beauty. Complete with a fingerprint scanner and everything....not that that is the end all feature. ;) Google It!!

Motorola has locked bootloaders, so if you are planning to root the phone, don't expect to be able to for a while until someone hacks it. HTC and samsung phones on the other hand have unlocked bootloaders, they don't care if you root your phone or not. Infact samsung is pushing homebrewers to make rooted applications. They sent free Galaxy S II's to some homebrewers a few months ago.
