Actor or Actress?

I've always wondered what people's opinion's where on the naming of an Actor/Actress.
I've always thought that when referring to an Actor you call them an 'Actor', no matter the gender, a unisex label if you will.
Then when i talk like that people get angry at me "for not respecting the rights of women" I think it's completely
silly but i'm just wondering what your's guys's opinions where!
