Maybe it's me, but whenever i see a tv program that originates from the states and someone walks into a bar
and asks for a beer, the barman just gets on with it. If that were in the U.K., the barman would ask which one. We have easily over 100 beers here and more than one type. we have lager, bitter, stout, cider etc..i'm pretty sure that the states has more than the 2 or 3 that i know about. coors/coors light, budweiser etc...
so what's up with that then? And what is your favourite drink. My favourite type is ale (newcastle brown,spitfire, bishops finger, hobgoblin), my all time fave beer is newcastle brown, you can't go far wrong ith a bottle of it

LMAO, you don't think we have lots of different beer here?

I mean we get Becks, but I don't think that's what all beer in Germany is like.

Newcastle is everywhere here, as well. It is a good, drinkable beer. I like Pale Ale's more.

If someone ask for a beer in the states, the bartender will ask what kind and if that person would like it tap or bottle. It's not like what you see on tv but I know you what you mean. I don't drink a lot but I like miller high life but it has to be in a bottle because I don't like beer that comes in cans. I've always like hard alcohol more than beer.

Personally (being only 15) my dad is a huge fan of beer (originating from argentina) so i know of quite a few brands. My favourite would have to be the German 'Uberbrau'...yes....there is a beer called Uberbrau :cool:

I'm not much of a drinker but my fav's are dark ales. Sierra Nevada, Anchor steam, Pete's wicked ale, Karl Strauss to name a few. I've been to England and i thought the beer was horrible lol.

What, like there's only one tap? Last time I was down at The Ranch (our old local) there was a stack of stuff on tap. At least 6 or 8 different beers.
Asking what's on tap would get a response of (insert 6 beers here) or, more likely, "read the taps" as they are right in front of you with the beer labels right on top of them.
No body in their right mind walks into a pub and asks for "a beer"

I didn't mean it as everyone does that, but on tv shows they show people walk into a bar and just say "I'll have a beer" then the bartender slides them one. That's what I thought Animal was talking about.

I love Budweiser. I go to bar next door and get a cold bud all the time. When i walk in i ask for a cold one and they know exactly what to give me. Another great thing is a 25oz Budweiser is only $3.00.

P.S. on special occasions or with food i drink a lot of Guiness.
