Voting on S1

Some people are reporting problems having voting enabled on S1.

Arguments for voting: Gives players the chance to kick problematic players or change maps, restart.

Arguments Against Voting: People seem to be abusing it by kicking the top score holder, moderators, or anybody they don't like.
They also have changed maps to other than broadcast maps, kicked people for no reason, restarted maps when the match hasn't finished.

Seems pretty clear but place your vote for or against and a decision will be made to remove voting or not.

I believe that people willing to change maps in there is showing a lets call it “business opportunity”, there is demand for other maps and that’s something KKK (Wally and Friends) may want to look into.

On the other hand, why changing the map? everyone knows is broadcast 24/7 period.

About kicking other players, I agree with PwnSauce, too many kids with too much power…it is bound to get messy…it shouldn’t be.

i think there should be a console warning like there is about spawncamping. If they then decide to abuse the vote options, they get 2 warnings then a tempban. that way they can't say they weren't arned.

Didn't Wally turn off the voting like 1 or 2 days ago already? I remember him restarting s1 suddenly and the Call Vote option was gone.

Well admins/mods tell me to kick who ever calls the votes. People always seem to vote for the guy they hate to be kicked. Maybe if we made it so the kick wasn't an hour but the person who got kicked could join right away. Someone told me it was for an hour or a day if you get kicked by voting. Anyways, I don't know what i should vote for.

While the vote has been used properly, I see it beeing abused too much times.

We have 4 other servers that can run every other map. They should all go to one of those servers and get them populated, rather than unnecessarily taking server 1 and changing it for their chanign desires.

It gets abused, but only on one occasions have I ever had to kick or ban someone for using it. The votes hardly ever pass. If I see a vote pass, the person who called it will may be temp banned.

When people spam kick votes, I get so pissed. Just pray to god no one messes with the server in the future.

Why do you get pissed if nothing ever happens? This seems to be a control issue, and not an issue of server integrity.

I have changed my stance on it and voted it be taken down. The main reason it was put into place was to combat the rcon stealing hacker, but it looks like he may have moved on. The other day someone vote kicked one of our members and i in turn had to go kick them. Most of the time a vote doesn't pass and it's no big thing, but if members are being kicked, that is unacceptable.

generally they wouldnt understand the rcon thieves and the ones who are starting these votes would think its funny that someone is stealing rcon.. So, I think it is redundant cause it takes too much to kick/ban with that for it to ever "save" the server..

Yesterday some players changed the map to killhouse because they "felt like it". After asking around I have realized that less than 20 percent of the players on s1 know that KKK has other servers. I think we need more console messages telling players that we have servers with different maps (and voting).
I voted yes to get rid of voting because barely any votes actually pass (because the majority of players must vote and most people on our servers are too lazy to move their fingers from the awsd keys) and kicking is the job of the mods not the players.
