It's my birthday, and I will get a decent amount of cash. Now my comp isnt awful just averagely awful, pulls off cod4 tf2 and minecraft. I have a Compaq cq62 231nr, three questions. Will upgrading the RAM improve my fps/speed at all? Can I upgrade my video card and/or processor? Anything else I can upgrade?
Thanks, your favorite douche

PS I can Install most things so upgrades can be reasonably pricing, dont push it though, I dont want to pay for a full new laptop. :p that was me attempting humor.

You need to know what kind of motherboard you have first. Then you will know what kind of and how much ram it will support, what kind of video card it will support and what kind of processor it will support. I don't think RAM will help improve your FPS. The most important thing is a good video card and a decent processor.

Silo, download CPUID and get some screenshots for us so we can look at your hardware specs. Then we can go from there.

and +1 to what D said. RAM sticks aren't really gonna do much of anything when it comes to FPS.

first off is it a laptop or a desktop? I think you have a laptop tho so your upgrades will be very limited the ram might be the only thing you can upgrade lol

good catch stevo, it's definitely a laptop! Isn't it uber expensive to upgrade a video card on a laptop? Might as well buy a darn desktop for the amount of money you'd spend, IMO.

While we are on the subject, could someone suggest a good videocard to get for my desktop? The current one I has now is an ATI Radeon 3200 which is kinda bleak. The rest of my specs are good I just need a new video card.

Depends on your budget. If you have 250 bucks to blow go with AMD 6950. Budget cards for like 130 bucks I would go with gtx 460. 1gb
