My computer exploded. Literary.

Well, its not exploded. Its almost to its death. Just waiting for a BSOD.

OK, back to topic.
My computer now has a problem. It has been restarting. I cannot access Windows, everytime I do, it keeps restarting even in Safe Mode. So, I try changing the Boot Priority, still no change. So, no CoD for me for awhile.
And this awhile could be long. My parent dont have enough money to get a new one(I don't think of upgrading it since it has been with me since 2003), not branded OEM, but custom ready-made ones.

So yeah. No CoD for maybe 1-3 months. Or maybe until the end of the year......
But don't worry I'll be on the forums.

Do you happen to have a Windows XP install disk? If so, I'd boot up the CD and access the Recovery Console. Basically what you want to try is FIXBOOT & FIXMBR. Give that a try and see if that helps.

If you need a video tutorial, look here:

I'm not promising anything but the steps I mentioned above seemed to fix the annoying restarts and BSOD on my neighbor's PC I just fixed 2 days ago.

If it keeps rebooting, try a boot disc (even like a bootable anti virus disc). If it still keeps rebooting, then it's gotta be a hardware problem.
Check the CPU fan is running. Overheating can cause reboots. Otherwisw if there is more than one stick of RAM, try it with one in at a time.
Wait, your PC is 8 years old? What are the specs?

I am not sure since the boxes are gone.
Windows XP SP2
Intel Pentium 4
ATI Radeon 9550
1GB RAM
250GB HDD.
Its a Packard-Bell computer.

What boxes?
And where did they go?
Anyway, try what we said, it may just be a windows or HDD problem, if it's the mobo, you're screwed. Or the CPU. You'll be hard pressed getting one compatible these days if it's that old.
