I need a strong PC for my gaming obsessions.
I was looking at Alienware Area-51s for around 5k when everyone screamed when the words came out o my mo-err, keyboard. So post me a newegg wishlist of the parts I'd need.
-must be able to run Battlefield 3.
-prefer illuminated case
-fast as possible
-monitor at least 21 inches
-Budget 2.5k to 3.5k.

For a monitor i would recommend 75hz, full 1080p display and a good contrast ratio. Samsung has nice stuff.

Exactly what I wondered.
And my parents would NEVER let me get all this.

you sure he's 12? maybe his parents are nice, or maybe it's a buildup of birthday presents for ages.

Nope, I work my ass off selling what my parents give me for eBay, helping around the house and any other way I can get some money for some work. I pay for my stuff completely myself. My current laptop was 650 bucks or somewhere around it. I bought it with the money i split with my dad from selling a vintage baseball mitt for 1650 bucks on ebay.
