I have bad memory...

I have somewhat of a bad memory... So this Monday is Memorial Day. As many of you know, I got a new gig 2 months ago, and for the past month and a half I've been working both Saturday and Sundays at the new gig. That means, working 7 days a week. Don't get me wrong, I take a day off from my Monday-Fri if I ever feel too tired from it and so far I've done it twice.

Back to the point.. This past week, my wife says she wants to go to the movies (that's all she ever asks me to take her out to; no dinners, clubs or whatever.. theaters is all she really wants) on Sunday night after work, because I'd be able to stay up late and not have to worry about work...

So I get a phone call from my co-worker at my new gig, and asks me if I'm willing to work on Monday from 8:30am to 4:30pm and he also gave me the option to work 'til 8:30pm if I wanted to. I immediately said yes because, 1. I forgot it was a holiday and 2. I wanted more money.

I ended up telling my wife, and she immediately gets mad. I say what's wrong, and she starts going on about our date. All I could say is, I forgot it was my day off and there's nothing I could do since I already said I'd cover it...

Anyway, I have a bad habit of forgetting certain things and this is just one of 'em.

By the way, she apologized for over re-acting. Though, I had to promise not to forget our wedding anniversary (July 5th). :giggle:

lol cool story bro, I can never remember stuff either and I never could remember to write things to remember in a planner. So I'm still figuring out how to make myself remember things (besides trying to keep it in my head). One solution that I found that helps is to get a big dry erase board to hang on your wall somewhere you pass frequently, ex. mine is on my bedroom door, that way when you think of something you need to do or remember it will be right there for you to write down and you can just glance over at it and see what you have to do instead of flipping through the pages of a planner. =3

Yeah, whiteboard or stick notes on the back of your phone or somewhere like that helps.

lol, ical helps alot. I have a reminder every night to do studying or attend something. Another strategy I use is to read all my upcoming events when I'm about to go to sleep. The fiancee goes on rage at me when I do it, lol.

Wow Wally, I'm surprised your still alive! Haha, anyways you better write it down, put in on the calendars at work and at home on your PC, on your cellphone to say... Anniversary!! :p

Electronic my man.
My phone has a calendar feature (don't they all?). So I put stuff like that in my phone. Anything upcoming in the next 7 days displays on my home screen and on the screensaver (which has big clock, date and next calendar entry).
Either that or you can get a "magnetic" mini white board for the fridge. We have one of them too. Great for reminders.

I need to start using my iPhone's calendar more often now. Thanks for the tips!

Cent0, this thread is the "The Lounge". Almost anything can be talked about here. Nothing wrong with sharing stuff. Makes things more interesting.

Dido to what Wally said. Yeah using the calendar on your phone sure helps a lot!
Just don't keep hitting the snooze like you do with the alarm clock when it goes
off lol.

P.S. Cent0=noob :D

Yeah, I started using my phone calendar too. It really helps out. I always forget dentist appointments and people's birthdays. It's understandable why you wanted to work on your day off to get more money though. I would have said yes too.
