Disappearing Threads

Is there a reason threads are being deleted?

I spend a lot of time on some of my threads and postings, especially my Krew Kristmas Poem which I can't find. (I spent hours on that)

Text messages take almost no space so why are they being deleted?
Makes people not want to post anything because it will just get deleted.

If someone is trying to conserve disk space, remove postings with big attachments instead. Also, server hosting plans offer gigs of space for pennies. We're not saving money or must disk space by deleting peoples' threads.

Wel shouldnt all deleted threads be marked with who deleted them and why? That certainly takes almost no space and is useful.

If you're going to delete an entire thread, the people who posted in it certainly deserve to know why. If there isn't a really good reason, why delete the thread anyway? I mean who cares? Seriously.

Well I think when they get to old they get deleted. I could of sworn I made an intro but I can't find it. Maybe I didn't and I'm just trippin'

PS. I didn't even have to check the logs to find it. I started off in your profile > threads started by user. The key to searching is that they aren't listed by creation date but rather, the last time something was posted in the thread. I found your thread in a minute on my iPhone. :)

( I didn't find it by a simple forum search for "Christmas" figured it was canned)

Well there have been threads I have noticed that have disappeared with no explanation. Can't remember which..... probably weren't important :x .

Some may have been placed on "Moderated" status. Only staff would be able to see them. This is usually done if you don't want to delete but to get a controversial thread placed under review till a site owner or admin staff can review it

yea yea. I did a search for "Christmas" and nothing came back, figured it was deleted like some of the moderator training stuff.

We now have a recycle bin and a PM notification system in our forum. Anytime a thread/post gets deleted, the user gets a PM with a reason by the Staff Member that deleted their stuff. There will be paper trail, so if kindly ask the person that deleted your post/thread why, you are more than welcome to bring it up with the higher-ups above the certain staff member. If anyone in red deleted your stuff, then you're fucked. :giggle: kidding about the last part. When in doubt, ask AVC, Johnny (Forum Admins) or myself if you ened some resolution to your deleted post/thread.
