My Computer

Hello everyone,

This is going to be like Nabil's thread because I wanted to know what I should buy.

I'm using a Toshiba Laptop and running Windows Vista. Under components and display it says I have a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset family video card (I think). Do you think I should upgrade to a better one? What ones do you prefer?

I've checked some prices and they seem affordable. I've seen some for like 200 bucks. That's really the price range I'm going for. Should I spend more or less one something like this. I'm not in the mood spend 1000 dollars on something.

The reason I want to get a better one, is so I can run some new games and feed my gaming addiction lol. Also, Silo told me to get better FPS I need a better video card and to post here because you guys could help guide me.

Sorry, I know I'm always posting help threads for computers. I just don't know a whole lot about about computers. I also rather post here because everyone here gives me accurate information and advice. In my opinion, it's better to post here sometimes than to post on some computer tech support forum.

Lol I know you guys are ready to tell me just to get a new computer and stop with the bitching.

Thanks again everyone :)

I would argue you should save some more money to get a better system and keep it for a few years rather than have to replace a $200 computer in 6 months.
You wouldn't get anything worth keeping if you only pay $200 for it.

That's what I'd do. You can get a pretty sweet basic dell system for $400-500 or a good used one for $400.

That's what I'd do.
Nice signature image btw.

Yeah, 400 bucks aint bad thanks Pwn.

Also, If any admin sees this you can take this thread down. I did a little bit to make it run a little more smoother and I'm happy with it now. Thanks :)

I run Vista and have never had a single problem. I agree with what PWN said. Save up and build your own.

Damage, you have to consider that Vista is a piggy to run on most machines. I can run Vista easily on my built PC as well but that doesn't necessarily mean he's able to run it smooth like butter on his.

Mostly everyone will always say to ditch Vista and get XP if your PC doesn't have the resources to run Vista properly.

City, everyone already said to save up and just upgrade your PC but in all honesty, if you don't have the money to do so, you may as well do the little things like running the games on low settings to help a bit with FPS. I know its ugly with it'll run smoother. As far as the newer games go then either build your own PC, and when doing so, don't skimp on things. Go big or go home! Long term wise, you'll be much happier.

Thanks everyone I appreciate your comments. Yeah, I started doing all these little tips to make the game run smoother after posting this which is working a little better. On some maps like Wet Work, it still sucks. It's not really a must for me to get a new computer right this second, but I will start looking to build one once I get paid from school.
