Graphic Card Issues Help Please? sorry long thread :|

Hai guys well i'm having issues with my computer.. right now im running a built in graphic which is a GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.. so a lil bit back a buddy of mine (who is total pc geek) gave me a Nvidia 9400 gt so i can get a bit more fps. now he took my old tower case and replaced it with a older one and put everything from my old case to new case. then he installed everything and we tested it out on an old like 1998 monitor and i ran left 4 dead which i normally get 10-15 fps on but at that time i got 60 so the card was working. i brought tower back to house hooked it up and my monitor wouldnt register thru the graphic card so i had to do it from tower.. now im having issues on trying to get my pc to registure this 9400 gt. Can anyone help me?!?!?!
Processor- AMD Athlon(tm) Dual Core Processor 4450e 2.30 GHZ
Ram- 3.00 GB
System type- 32-bit Operating system
Windows Vista home premium.. model s3713w

if know anything please help much appreciated. again sorry so long. and fyi i am kinda computer dumb

I'm sure your friend installed the GPU drivers for your PC. If not, I'd start there first.

Secondly, you may want to open your case just to make sure none of the power cables came loose.

Thirdly, if all else fails, have your friend come over to take a look at it.

Lastly, upgrade to Windows 7 or XP. Yes, XP is an upgrade to Vista :giggle:

nope nothing came loose lol heres what my friend told me and i have absolultey know idea how to bc im not that great with pc's. but here is what he told me to do "open the computetr case plug the gfx card into the pcix16 1.1 slot take a screw and screw it to the case along the mount after plug in the vga cable on your monitor into the computer and the turn it on"

You shouldn't have to do that if your friend already did it. lol

Keep in mind that yours may not be black but what's important is that it's the longest of those things. Just try to match it up with your card, it's really easy.

Again, I'm not even sure why your friend is telling you to connect the GPU again since he did it already... Though, he may want you to take it out and put it back in again.
