Maintaining Balance

Hello Everybody,
I felt compelled to drop a note to the krew discussing some recent departures of members who may have burned themselves out on gaming and felt the need to quit.

This is mainly directed at our younger friends but I wanted to encourage members to maintain balance between real life and gaming life. Rather than spend too much time in online games, burnout and quit, don't forget about other aspects of a healthy lifestyle.

We're always glad to see you spending time with us on the forum and on the game servers but please keep things in perspective by staying ahead of school work, spending lots of time with your family and keeping yourself physically active.

In other words, we love having you guys around but don't burn yourself out and quit because you neglected other, important parts of your life.

See ya!
Pwn. (Greg)

I wouldn't call them Losers. I just think that people can balance game time and real life time rather than outright quit.

I applaude their decision to take some sort of positive action in their lives and follow through on it but gaming can be part of a fun life without taking it over.

Now, I have a busy life. I work full time (plus overtime). We also run a business (online and a shop). And our daughter is only 3 and not even in school yet.

Yet I still have time to game. Not as much as I would like, but that's life.

Greg is right, we don't need to be on the PC all day and all night, and then decide that you need a life and quit totally. Look at Blu or Brian, they now have jobs, but they didn't quit. They simply said that now that they would now have less time to play. But that's OK

You don't need to see the Krew as a full time vocation. It's OK to drop by, read some posts, make some comments, play a few round. If it's only a few hours a week, but still more or less regular, that's OK too.

I think its great how people make the decisions, it shows commitment to what they really want to do, if you wanna succeed in life now a days you need to work hard at what you want to do, so if anything that distracts you from doing so then that thing needs to go. Not trying to say this is a bad place, this is a great place to be but you gotta put things that are important in life first. Also we have member admins here so any member with personal issues or questions about life should be able to contact him and talk about there situations, lifes all about making the right decision and sometimes making the wrong ones, but if you dont try or you dont make mistakes you will never learn.

On the defense of the people leaving; some probably don't have self-control and are procrastinating all the time; me being one of them. That's why FoX left us. Obviously I don't leave because it's just not the right time (will it ever be?) to do so.

Lastly, you have to notice a pattern that most people that are leaving are young. They still have to learn to prioritize and have self-control.

What does being "asian" have to do with this?
I like soccer, music, gaming and education and I'm not asian.

I completely agree with you about this Andy. I'm not on nearly as much as I was but I still get on when I can.
And yes there are things in life that are MUCH more important than a game on the computer and you should
pursure those things all you can IMO.

But also like Wally said, they're still young and need to get their priorities in line for what they really want to
accomplish. I suppose some people can't balance their lives as well as others but there's nothing wrong with
that.

Anyways that's my 2 cents worth :D
