My family got a little chihuahua when I was in the 5th grade (ages ago) and has been with us for nearly 2 decades!

All of us have countless memories of her; some of mine were her bitting the shit out of me - I'll still cherish those moments. She was something special!

The past couple weeks she was she was bloated but blamed it on a pregnancy; my mom saw a dog hump her so we thought she was pregnant. She was moving fine but we all knew she wouldn't make it past the pregnancy because she was really old. 2 days ago, she didn't want to move from the driveway (getting a tan in the sun). She eventually moved when we took the cloth she was laying on to her usual laying area. She walked, barked and did just about everything else like a regular day though. We didn't do our due-diligence in taking her to the vet because we knew she wasn't going to make it anyway.

I found our dog dead in our front lawn yesterday morning. She passed away either the night before or in the morning.

Yesterday when I got home, it truly hit me that she was gone for good. There was no day that I'd get home and start opening the driveway and would call out her name; I called her name yesterday and it hit me that she was gone.

We all miss you. May you rest in peace in doggie heaven!

edit:
She is now laid to rest in our backyard. We will be planting a fruit tree or a flower to commemorate her in our lives.

Sorry to hear... Losing a pet is one thing that can make you really realize how fragile life truly is. Live it to te fullest!
My Deepest Condolances,

That's very sad Wally. It's sad that puppies don't have a very long life span compared to humans.

Our mister Chief has been to the vet 3 times in the last 2 months. He's starting to get on a bit too. But nearly 2 decades is a very good innings.

May your doggie rest in peace.
