Would it be possible to add a tone on new message to the shoutbox? The amount of time someone has gone afk in the middle of a conversation, or i have alt-tabbed to check something, and missed a lot, is really annoying.

Sounds are EXTREMELY annoying.

I can try searching for another shoutbox but even with the slight lag from time to time, I'm not sure if it's worth a switch.

okay, i hadn't thought of the fact that there are people on the page that arent using shout, and that it would probably piss them off.

yea we use to have one that had noise, I liked it but I guess others didnt lol Wally makes a good point with the lag sometimes to you dont get the message unless i refresh my page
