Punkbuster issue

I can't play on a server with PB turned on for long. I play there for like 5 minutes, and then I get kick, accompanied by this message:

|k|sodalover PunkBuster kicked player '|k|sodalover' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Disallowed Program/Driver [125120]


That's an exact word for word description after I get kicked by PB. Does anyone know how to solve this?

update pb. problem solved!
wait and also close all programs,optional for antivirus. this is because pb will think its a disallow program
 
Get rid of any programs that do screen overlays (MSI, fraps, etc). I was getting kicked due to MSI, even with the screen overlay off
 
I use evga precision and never got kicked from PB, I also had to download the updater and update it, then everything worked fine
 
If you have steam overlay set to shift+tab shortcut, change it to something else.
 
Problem is I bought cod4 on steam. The price was so cheap, 15 dollars compared to 29$ retail. in fact, I buy most of my games on steam. 360's suggestion will probably work best since I close everything when I play cod4. Thanks for the help from everyone though. Appreciate it. :D

I don't either. I turn it off whenever I remember but it's hardly ever..

MSI will get you booted 98% of the time. It really sucks cuz I have no idea what kind of temps the GPU is running while I don't have it on; the on-screen display that is.

lol Wally you shouldent be worried about your gpu while playing cod4, its not the most demanding game lol, I got a way cheaper gpu than urs and mine runs cool and barely works while in game everything max settings as well
 
The difference between running a higher fan speed and not is quite a lot :o I'd much rather have the peace of mind that it's running cooler than not.
 
Funny how youtube videos show ppl hacking on a PB server yet PB kicks ppl for things which aren't threats.
Good planning on their part
 
Eventually they get caught so cheaters will only have their fun for a bit but not forever.

And yeah, it's still sucks that we get kicked for little stuff... :mad: :banghead:
