Forum Issue

Hey WaLLy,
I saw a thread that you posted saying to post a thread about any forum errors. Well here is one that I've noticed. It's not a big problem but I thought I would tell you just incase it only happeneds to me. The log in thing is kind of weird. When I need to log into the site, the user name and password thing is all smashed together. I only can put in my user name but not my password. I just leave everything blank and click log in. Then it brings me to the other log in page where I am able to log in. That's usally how I log into the forums. It's not a big problem or anything I just thought I would let you know. I was just wondering if this only happeneds to me. Maybe it's my computer or something.

Not a problem. I like the suggestions, so if I can try to help, the better.

Can you take a screenshot of the problem please?

Also, what forum theme are you using? If it's the default, then it's probably Velocity which should give you some spacing because of the icons. Anyway, with a screenshot I'd have a better understanding of your situation.

Oh and what Web Browser are you using?

I know this isn't a permanent fix to your problem but when I log in, I click where you enter the username and once I'm done, I click on the Tab button on your keyboard and it'll take you to the next field to enter your password.

Pushing the tab button worked I'm an idiot for not doing that. I always push the tab button when logging into sites or filling out stuff but for some reason I wasn't doing that here lol. Thanks man Anyways here is the screen shot if you still want it. Lets hope I uploaded the screen shot right lol.

p.s I'm using the Velocity theme with Internet explorer for windows vista.

That definitely looks weird! Glad the tab button worked for ya.

Though, I'd like to find a solution so help me out here. I'm fairly certain it may be Internet Explorer, which version are you running? 6, 7, or 8? Try on another web browser, e.i. Firefox or Chrome, and see if that helps.

I have had the same issue on work computers. In fact just tonight had the same problem. The work machine uses IE7.

Did you try any other forum themes? I'd like to see if it's just Velocity theme that's the culprit.

Yeah I think it's Internet Explorer's fault because I'm using Internet Explorer 7 too. The Velocity and the vB4 Defult theme has the same thing going on. The only one that doesn't have this problem is the battlefield one. I downloaded chrome like you said and the problem was fixed. I've never used chrome before, but what's your opinion on it? Have you ever used it before? I'm just asking because it looks cool.

Update to IE 8. It works on mine but I don't think Windows 7 has anything to do with it.

I <3 Google Chrome! I've been using it since it was in beta. That's my main browser on all my machines; at work or home. It's an awesome browser that loads much, much faster than Firefox. Some will argue that Firefox is better because of all the add-ons but Chrome is starting to catch up in that aspect.

Stick with Chrome, you'll love it.
