I don't know if we have a really complete set of this data. Seems like were just kinda going by what we remember seeing, in terms of when staff is usually on.
There are obvious holes in staff coverage, and I know the admins and higher staff are working to fix this, if possible.
Maybe it would be helpful to have a list of active staff members containing data like their timezone, when they usually are on (staff submitted) and when the rest of the staff actually notices them on. I really hesitate to even suggest that time sheet kind of stuff be done. The third thing i said, when people notice staff members on, is as close as Id suggest getting to doing any sort of time sheet thing.
We have a couple of fairly regularly active mods. The most active are the ones who are out of highschool and kind of settled down, so to speak. Changing social lives and career circumstances obviously have an effect on how often people show up on the site and server.
It seems to me that the trend is that newer mods are super active, and after about a month or 2 they slow down (having realized it sucks or having gotten bored of the game finally, something like that) and seem to move on to other things. There are certainly mods who do NOT and have NOT done this.
We want to be able to separate the staff into those 2 categories to get a clear picture of where help is needed and who is available to help. In no way is this to yell at less active staff members. It's a volunteer job, as long as they are doing it right there is absolutely nothing wrong. Just need to know what we have to work with.
Any way this is possible... even a good idea?
