Ok so here's the deal i thought i could quite smoking at any time but then i stopped smoking cigs for a day one DAY, and after 18 hours i had a blazing headache and i felt sluggish. That's when i realized i was addicted and i really need to stop. I mean im already in the army recon reserves. But i want to go full on army. But smoking is destroying my lung capacity.

So my question is have any of you guys stopped smoking and or know of a good way to get off it?

Thanks

I bought a new car.

The majority of the time I smoked was after a long day of work going home. On the ride home, I'd smoke 1 black & mild. I was anal about anyone smoking in any of my good cars but since I was driving somewhat of a beater, I didn't really care about the smell or any ash burns on the seats.

I bought a new car and ended up selling my beater 5 months later. I kicked the habit to the curb cuz I didn't want to ruin any of the cars' interior.

Since then, I've only smoked twice at-most. Stopped in Oct. 2005. :)

The easy way to quit smoking is this 2 step program:

1. Don't smoke cigarettes.
2. Dig up some will power and determination from inside and stick to step 1.

Either you want to quit or you don't. It's YOUR choice.

Ya, my dad quit smoking when he was 17 with Pwn's method. Good luck in quitting smoking, too.

P.S: I live in Canada, too, dude. :D

Don't buy cigarettes.You can't smoke what you don't have.

When you start a craving play COD4 to take your mind off it.

Can you guys get nicotine gum?

LOL. You have to set up a concrete and well organized plan to quit smoking. You can't just keep this plan in your head. Write it down so you are held by it's rules.

So make a weekly strategy, combining all the GOOD advice we gave you above. Forget the bad advice. Then there's the really important part.

Allocate a certain amount of funds for cigs a week. Make a plan to only smoke a certain amount a day for that week. Then next week you'll cut back a little more. Yyou have to write all this down, though. Put it on the calender.

Get other people involved. That's another big one. If you tell everyone you're quitting and all that and you'd like them to help, they will give you shit whenever you smoke. If you experience negative consequences every time you smoke, you'll get conditioned to hate it, slowly but surely.

This brings up conditioning. If every time you smoke a cig, you throw up, you'll hate smoking, no matter how good the act of smoking makes you feel, unless of course you enjoy throwing up, or the smoking somehow inhibits the negative and lasting effects of throwing up. Things like that. So condition yourself. Only smoke cigarettes when you are depressed, you have a shit ton of work to do, you feel really crappy ...etc. Make THOSE the times you smoke.

Also break up the habit. If you smoke every day, same time, before you go to work, THAT's when you'll always want a cig. I remember i used to smoke before highschool. I wasn't that addicted, but the morning, same time, i NEEDED a cig. If i had smoked before i left for school, i'd still need one when that time came. So break up habitual things like that.

Back to conditioning, DO NOT smoke when something good happens. When something great happens do something productive and healthy, make it as far from smoking cigs as possible.

Basically you need a structured plan and help from friends.

Here's another really good one: Buy really really shitty cigs. This goes with conditioning. You smoke camels or marbs now, smoke Knights or Gold Coasts. Also, if you can, roll your own , and never roll ahead of time. Do it by hand. Every time you need to smoke, youll have to drop everything and roll a fucking cig with shitty ass tobacco.

Shitty cigs save you money AND taste like shit. Helps a lot.
