Forum Slowness, lag suggestion

One of the issues we had on another forum I used to admin was slowness or forum lag.. One of the solutions we used was to limit the size of the sig tag banners. If you look around at the different sig banners on our forums currently you'll see a bunch that are simply way too big. This mostly affects people with slower connections or others reading the forums thru a phone..

My suggestion is to limit sig banner size to no more than 500 X 130 pxls..

I get no lag on Safari and Chrome but on Firefox my CPU spikes to 99% when I type into the shout.

Also, scrolling through a page also spikes the CPU in Firefox.

no idea how to fix something like that.

Nick text dont matter.. You can make your sig banner smaller and it'll help.. Using 2 pics in a sig can be a bit much as well.

clip yours is usable

I've actually started trimming down lines of code folks can use but apparently that wasn't enough.

I'll look into hopefully adding a forum mod that limits 1-posted sig, per user, per page.

w00t. Just edited some code for the signature. Now every persons signature is only going to be showed once per page.

I only added it to the Velocity theme. I'll add it to the other themes later as well.
