these are some of the free windows programmes i use and thought they maybe have some use to some of the other people on here

EasyBCD1.7.2
programme that lets you modify windows boot loader so if you have your pc dual booted with say vista and xp the boot loader will be the vista one which will show earlier version of windows instead of calling it windows xp, windows 95 etc. so this programme lets you change that so at start up it will show up as windows xp or what ever you wish to call it. i guess most people wont be to worried about this but if you have three different version of windows it cna be hard to remember which is which

File shredder
it works like windows disk cleanup but once you have deleted a file using this programme there is no way of getting it back. where as windows disk cleanup leaves traces of the file behind file shredder wont. it dose everything that dick cleanup can do and more (it is a military grade shredder). can also be used like the windows recycle bin to remove single items from the computer

uneraser and windundelete
if you have deleted something using the windows recycle bin and then remember you still need it the chances are its still there somewhere and these programmes can help you find it again.

Folder Lock

files that are hiden by folder lock can not be found using ms dos or another operating system. This application provides two levels of protection: you can merely lock files and folders, or you can encrypt them using the 256-bit Blowfish algorithm. When you boot up the program, it'll ask you for a master password. Hitting the Browse link locates and lock folders anywhere on your computer, or you can simply secure them via the context menu. Encryption is limited in the free version to 25 MB.

If you want your pr0n collection secure, go True Crypt. It's great, you can have a "under duress" password that makes it look like you get in but it just shows legitimate stuff. The "real" password will reveal everything.
