I was talking to my Dad a few days ago. Long story short, he updated to the new avg 2010. When he tried to reboot, he couldn't get into windows. He managed to get in and delete AVG and has had no problems since.

I had updated to 2010 a couple weeks ago. Last night i was being asking to reboot after it updated itself. Since i was going to bed, i just shut down the PC. When i booted today, i got BSOD and the PC rebooted itself. Did this four times. I then booted into my other partition which has W7, navigated to my C drive and deleted AVG. Vista booted right up, no BSOD.

If you use AVG my advice would be to change to Avast.

I've been using Norton for just about a year now. No problems at all. I love that it has a feature to scan any flash/external drive on the fly. :)
