Sounds like it's a problem with your graphics card or a driver for the graphics card. Also check and make sure your PC inst overheating. If you can, next time it happens take a screenshot of the error message and post it so we can see the exact error. Pugsport will probably have more knowledge of a fix then i would.

ur GFX card P? Nvidia Geforce 9800GT? under windows xp?

if its yes, try to re-install the nvidia driver 190.38 its the only one wich is working for me. Got the same problem with the game few month ago and thats the only thing that fixed it. COD4 is a well knwn problem of that card, it even get a chapter in the support manual. Im not on my comp now but if i can find it i'll post it.

But like Damage said take a screen shot of the message it will be better.

And if it says "Nv4_dsp.dll has encountered a problem and stop"(or something like that) it came from your gfx card driver

Yea plus it doesnt matter what kind of card you have, they are all prone to problems especially with the drivers.

Well it depends. I assumed since blu said His COD lagged at times with the 9600gt that it would lag quite a bit with the 8600 but i could be wrong. So the question is how does cod run for you Pizdec? (barring the error message)

Well I had a Geforce 9600GT and just recently upgraded to a GTX 260 216 Cores and it made a huge difference on my gaming, so if you have the bucks then I would go with at least the GTX 260, thats my thoughs :D

Hey guys the tech nerds here so yall can relax.. alright so what it sounds like is something to do with youre graphics card, hard drives, or something like that... anyway... what I would do first off... is well.. it kinda sounds like youre vid card is over heating do you have your computer case open? if you do close it up... and if not.. then you might want to open youre comp up and dust off some of the fans... now thats one thing that might be causing it... another thing is... the drivers like a lot of people have already said... do you know how to upgrade youre drivers? CONTROL PANEL>> SYSTEM>> DEVICE MANAGER>> DISPLAY ADAPTERS>> Nvidia 8600 GT (was it?) Now right click youre video card and now click "Update Driver Software..." if it finds an update it will automatically send you to the site or download the driver... now if it doesnt then what you can do is manually find the driver on Nvidia.com all you do is go to "Downloads" and find youre card and OS (operating system) and download the driver... now once you restart and play the game and it still doesnt work... then I would suggest a Defrag of youre comp... and to defrag youre comp you go to... START>>ALL PROGRAMS>> ACCESSORIES>>SYSTEM TOOLS>> DISK DEFRAG now you can select the hard drive you want defragged :] after that if it still doesnt work... i hate doing this but... I would suggest reinstalling CoD4 You'll loose youre stats but you'll still be able to play :D? I hope this helps you. <3

OH! and you really dont need to upgrade youre video card.. you want an old video card?I've got an e-Geforce 6600 LE :/

No pizdec it's not. The higher the number the better the card in most cases. Also if you need to uninstall the game, which i doubt, you can back up your profile beforehand and then reinsert it into your profiles folder so you won't lose any stats or ranks.
