General rules for grudge matches

Here are some things I think we all need to agree on:
1. NO running down the clock by remaining dead (not spawning).
2. NO avoiding UAV by not spawning.
3. NO using spectate after death to locate your opponent.
4. All server rules apply to grudge matches.

Breaking these rules will automatically result in the guilty party's forfeit.

youd think these things would go without saying.

Also:

In matches of more than 2 players (2v2 and up), on SnD and on the Sudden Death part of Sabotage, no recon from the dead. This means that if you are dead, you cannot go around in spectating and looking for the enemy players and then informing your teammates of their locations. You must be alive to tell your teammates where the enemies are.

I am not an admin or in charge of the krew, so any serious objections to these rules?

I didn't think Houston would have anything meaningful to read.

Anyways for me I like the rules I just don't know if everyone will go for it, meaning we would have less people that play than we already do, and now it's not very many at all. You see how the Krew Komp has turned out, pretty much at a dead stop now and nobody seems interested in it now.

I think this 2v2 matches will eventually get this way too, but adding all of these rules will just make it happen quicker in my opinion, but they are good rules though. ;)

I mean, these rules have nothing to do with perks, maps, gametypes...etc. It's just basically saying no cheating. I don't think anyone breaks these rules often, if at all. I seriously hope none of the things I mentioned are a regular part of the way people play, lol. On most search and destroy servers I have played on, if not ALL of them, the people who are still alive CAN'T see anything the people who are dead say. On some you can't even spectate people from the spectator team; all you can do is the free camera thing.

Obviously, if you are going to respawn that round anyway, you can tell your teammates whatever you need to before you respawn.

If we want to get ore grudge matches going, then let's just start challenging people.

how about no camping? and for pwn, all spectators must remain silent... lol

LoL, that's why I don't like watching pwn in a match cause I like to talk to the other spectators, it's weird that he can't play and either ignore or multitask while he is doing so, it's not hard to ignore the message box, lol. :p

camping is not cheating. Spectators do not have to be silent unless they are giving away peoples location or are interfering with the players ability to perform.

That was really only one match Blu. I'm usually ok with spectators but wasn't Cent0 going "OH SHIT HE PWNT YOUR ASS" or some dumbass shit like he usually does? That's distracting .
It's cool if ppl talk while I match but when I play against someone who's really good, I don't need that b/s floating around. I get a little nervous that my opponent is right around the corner or something, lol.

well the dang people can stop camping for one match... grudge matches are made to show who is more skillfull, not who can camp the best. ive stop camping for the most part and have gotten 3 first place matches... all with ppl from the krew

camping should be allowed. You need to know how to deal with campers. Sometimes it is more skillful to camp for a few seconds rather than just run around the whole time.

To dude.. I lmao not because I disagreed with you but because you just cant make up rules and post them as set in stone until you get them approved. All the rules that you posted are really just common sense rules.

Houston why are you always trolling? The Dude was just laying down some common ground rules for 1v1. I think it's a good post, and so do a lot of other people. I think you're about the last one to talk about common sense after your comments to PewPewPew.

im just saying like not for longer periods of time... staying in one spot the entire match is just stupid. like 10-15 seconds is fine but 1-5minutes is too much

ok i get you. Yea i think just hiding in a corner should be strongly discouraged. That's just like running down the clock. I hesitate to suggest that we disallow camping because it would be very hard to determine concretely in all cases what is legitimate camping, and what is just being a douche.

Well i think the players have a right to tell spectators to shut up. If it's distracting to the players and they let the spectators know, then be respectful and stop disctracting them.

As for camping, I boiled the distinction between acceptable and unacceptable camping down to this:

While the game is still happening, you should be actively trying to complete whatever objective the GT calls for. In TDM or FFA, hiding from your opponent without the intent of confronting them at some point is the OPPOSITE of what the GT calls for. Hiding is one thing, but when you camp to run down the clock it's an illegitimate strategy.

Admins have the power to change my posts whenever they want. I made a sticky of the rules and locked it, but the admins can delete it if it is somehow a problem. In that stick there is a link to this thread for people who wish to discuss the rules or if they have issues with them. I am not laying down anything set in stone. I will change rules when enough people have a problem with them.

YES these rules are common sense, but I have seen them broken on numerous occasions. If we have a sticky that says, THESE ARE THE RULES: DO NOT BREAK THEM OR YOU LOSE, it will eliminate most arguments about what is allowed and what is not. I don't think that I am insulting anyone's common sense by laying down these rules.

Do you complain about our threads that say "no hacking allowed" ? That's a pretty common sense rule. How many servers have you been on that allow hacking?
