I hate it when bystanders just yell "Lawsuit..., blah blah blah". Screw that hippie!

What the heck did he do to warrant this? While I admit it's kind of dumb to put a Hitler mustache on Obama, those security guards had no right to remove him from public property. It wasn't like he was inciting a revolt or something.

The guy who runs the state fair here is a huge liberal hippie democrat. The guy who wasnt bothering anybody did not do anything to warrant an arrest or be man handled as he was. There are always political people at the state fair that have stuff like this but it is usually aimed at people like bush and pailen. Although Alaska is a huge red state these types of events attract alot of our liberal douch bags.(Not saying that all liberals are douche bags)

yea thats absurd. Its ridiculous we let people like that into positions of authority. It's a shame the legal and law enforcement systems failed so miserably.

This has nothing to do with Obama. How do you figure that it does?

1. Those were fairground security goons, not Obama or Government security staff so we can't really pin this on Obama. Besides, that old man was removed because he was disturbing a private function, not for his political views on Obama.

2. While free speech is important, disrupting a private gathering violates the rights of attendees to that gathering. That old guy violated the rules of the fairgrounds and was treated fairly by the guards, as we saw. (The security guys even called to check if they could legally do so before removing him.)

3. Bush's security were a lot worse because his security folks would have blocked that old man at the gate or even asked all attendees if they were a supporter of Bush before letting them in. If they were not supporters, they would be denied access. That's a lot worse.

What's worse everybody seems to have accepted what they saw without thinking critically or thinking into what they were seeing.

While i agree with pwn almost entirely, I do think we should stop using Bush as a model of comparison for Obama. Let's face it, being better than bush is not a great achievement. Also, it would be ridiculous to assume that Obama was contacted in any step of the law enforcement process. He may have heard about it from his advisors, because as we can see here, people are going to get riled up about a protester getting arrested. I assume Obama would want to separate himself from this situation to the greatest degree possible. It is, after all, the judicial and law enforcement systems responsibility, and Obama should not enter into it at all. This is why we have 3 branches of the gov't.

pwn, you forgot:

4. he was waving around a giant stick. What if he accidentally clubbed some 5 year old kid in the head? I don't really care who is was, does, or doesn't support politically.
