the spawncamping issue

It has become increasingly obvious to me that there are some people who just wont stop spawncamping. I do not know how the issue of perm bans for repeated and non-stop spawncamping offenses is handled, but i would like to suggest that a more concrete system be put in place. I am sorry if I am over-stepping my bounds by saying this; it is merely a suggestion. I would suggest that there be some amount of strikes a person gets before they are perm banned, and that they be notified of how many they have left. So maybe after 5 temp bans, they should be perm banned. Quite honestly, i think 5 temp bans is a lot of warning. Not only are they temp banned 5 times, which is itself a warning, but every mod i have seen warns the offendor, both with text and then a kick, to stop spawncamping. There are also console messages. I think just the threat of being perm banned will keep most of the people from spawn camping. Those who care so little about the rules they they continue aren't really the kinds of people we want on the servers anyway. Again, I am not a mod, and this is merely a suggestion that may make the mods job easier. Having a concrete system would mean that they don't have to worry about whether the offender realy deserves a perm ban yet; by the 5th ban they will know that the offendor obviously is not going to stop.

I like this idea. I have heard people complain that they are not aware of the rules, and therefore did not know spawn camping was not allowed. For first time players on the server, this is a valid point. I think 24/7 console messages should be up at all times.

Me too Damage, and for whatever reason they seem to be up for a few days then disappear, I don't know what happens but they don't stay up and running though. Another thought would be that having the spawn camper rules up, but do them in several different languages too since many of our players are from over seas. Obviously English being one, maybe German and French as well, what do you guys think?

Even without the console messages we still have our members wearing tags telling them to stop and they are either ignored, cussed at, or abused in other ways.. They get plenty of warnings from the rest of us

the different messages is a great idea but also you must include spanish since it is a common language. maybe also russian.

well we now have thought of something over on the team side directly related to this issue. It was decided only supers and admins are allowed to permaban and that is only after we take a vote consisting of the moderaters, supers, and admins if the vote passes then we will issue a permaban froma super or admin.

ok. The point i was trying to make is that there should be a concrete and systematic basis for permabanning spawncampers. This would resolve the issue of some spawncampers being perm banned for less than others, should that occur. Having a system like this would also make the threat of perm ban much more real for spawncampers. They will know that if they are caught a certain amount of times that is it. There is no arguing out of it, or playing on the good nature of our mods. Only giving supers and admins the authority to perm ban is absolutely cool, i am just saying this would make it much easier to know when to perm ban someone. 5 temp bans and thats it. 10 temp bans. Whatever the higher ups think is good, just some record of offenses that can be measured, and when it reaches a certain level, the person is banned.

Yea Dude u have some good points and there not bad but IMO it wont work because of lack of communication and then over zealous mods could tempban quickly, me personally hardly bother with kicks unless there new spawn campers i usually warn they disagree i lay a temp ban on them. This is just my opinion though

k maybe just a section that lists whoever is being a problem, and how many temp bans they have had, just for reference. Even if the number is not completely accurate, if its wrong it can only be LESS than the number of times the persons been temp banned.

maybe this was also sorta suggested on the team side too we have a specific list of em on there and we vote on whether this person is a problem. Then we just merge em when were done.

I am new here and this is just a suggestion, maybe put a abbreviated warning with your server title info would cut down on spawn camping. Those kinds of warnings always get my attention.
