Is Boosting Allowed on Servers?

I don't think it should be, but here's what it is:

Definition:
In multi-player games, having other people assist you in getting leaderboard position or achievements (xbox 360 specific) by having other people help you in ways that go counter to the game's design. Most often done with one team throwing the game to another. Example: In Battlefield:Modern Combat, one Achievement acquired by hitting 5 enemies and 0 friendlies in one mortar strike. This is doable but, during normal play, exceptionally hard. Boosting would be getting 5 people you know to join the other team and all stand in one place so you could drop a mortar strike and get the achievement.

Example:
Getting to the top of this leaderboard is a joke. The only people on there did it by boosting.

i would think its rather difficult to arrange that, and our servers are way too fast paced for that to really have much affect on the games outcome..

Yeah I agree with Cheez on this one, I too think that something like that would be tough to set up. I have seen on S1 before that say two guys, in the bathroom at both ends shooting and not letting anyone in there. They were warned about it and didn't do it again, but I don't think that something like that would last long on our servers anyways

Help ppl to get achivement like "hot potatoes" or getting free HS to unlock gold weapon. Some have already did it. IMO do it on an empty server and stop if ppl come, dont start to say "Leave we are makin HS!" If ppl come on our server its to play so IMO it dont mind if u do it but dont refrain player to play.

Anyway, if someone can help me to get "hot potatoes"

I agree with Sargass on this one as long as there not tryin to chase people away and on an emptier server its fine with me.

There are a few definitions of boosting.

One is to get challenges or headshots. I got all mine the hard way (HS) but some of the really painful challenges I did in KKK servers with assistance just to get them out of the way because I was getting obsessed with completing them all.

Another definition is teaming up on a FFA server, which is generally frowned upon in many servers. Like the example of the two guys camping a certain area. Not really a big issue though, because you cant choose where to spawn.

My friend and I used to join 4 player Red Alert games while in the same room to team up and own. problem is we got pasted everytime. So it's not exactly a winning strategy.

Another version is called Ghosting. Where a dead or spectating player is giving intel to a player in game, in real time. A form of cheating to be sure, but again, our BC server is so fast paced any of these cheats are worthless. Not so much on tactical SAB or S&D though.

There was a discussion on this "teaming up" crap in a FFA server (2 guys working together) we had a couple months ago and it was ruled illegal I believe.. Still whenever someone gets told to stop someone else (usually a mod-not a slam here) says thats its ok.

What mods have said it was ok to team up in ffa? Every time i have seen this in S1 i give warnings and then kick if needed.
