Transition to Windows 7

Mr.Rippie

Corporal
Hey everyone,
I just decided to put windows 7 on my PC and i need some help. I need to know how you save your COD profile so your weapons/achievements don't go away on the new PC. I no longer have my external hard-drive so i need another way to transfer it
Thanks!!

do you use steam or a CD...cause either way if you type in c:\program files\steam\common or c:\program files\Activision you'll find a saved cache folder which holds your data...if you copy that data you should have also copied your multiplayer data.

ex. (for steam users)
1. go into the search window and at the top part type in the 'address' into the "Address" bar

c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\

2. copy the folder titled "call of duty 4"

3. when you reinstall the game through steam go back to "...\steamapps\common\" and replace the "call of duty 4" folder with your saved "call of duty 4" folder

ex. (for CD users)
*disclamer* i don't use a CD so this is my hit or miss assumption, it should work though.

1. go into the search window and at the top part type in the 'address' into the "Address" bar

c:\program files\Activision (i'm putting this down because when i downloaded the COD4 demo it put the demo files here like a CD would)

2. copy the folder labeled "Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare"

3. install the game from the CD

4. go back to "c:\program files\Activison" and replace the "Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare" folder with your saved folder.

that should do it, hope you find this helpful!
