Laptop

Family member is looking at laptops and asked me for recommendations. Since i don't know much, I'm asking you. Any help is appreciated.

* $400 or under
*15.6 inch screen

Uses:
Light web browsing/Email
Importing digital photos/viewing photos
Basic everyday stuff.
No gaming, no heavy usage, etc.

I don't normally suggest this, but it sounds like a good use for one.

Have you looked at Chromebooks? Web/email is pretty much all they're good for.

Well for a $400 Lenovo is a pretty good way to go. I just did a quick search on their website and found found this guy for just under $400. The processor and hard drive might be a bit slow but it's got 500GB of storage and 4GB ram.

Should be good for any casual computer user.

[DOUBLEPOST=1435801733][/DOUBLEPOST]The thing you have to watch on Lenovo laptops (atleast my G780) is the hinges. They don't use the best plastic on their cases and mine is noticeably cracked or loose.

What I'm wondering is, what's the best/fastest processor in this price range? Is that AMD A8 series any good, or is it utter

Any recommendations on the best hardware would be great.

Actually, it says too close to call. Personally i'd get the Amd, but then i am a bit of an amd fanboy.
