CoD4 is dying.
People still like to play it.
The master server list has been down for me and other people.
I have been trying to find servers using game tracker, and it sucks. Understandably, game tracker isn't great at filtering CoD4 servers based on what I'm looking for. Actually, game tracker makes no effort to do so whatsoever. And there really isn't a great client to filter servers based on whether you want FFA, Hardcore, promod, zombies, freeze tag...etc.
Let's put some threads together that provide a server list in an organized and concise fashion for people.
I am going to start a few threads that provide an organized, concise list of servers and IP's for CoD4. From my recent experience, there are few enough active servers that we shouldn't have a problem keeping them organized within a single post, which is sad, but expected.
I don't have a whole lot of server IP's right now, but I will be adding to the list. At this precise time, I am just going to make the threads. I will make a few based on my own ignorantly arbitrary divisions:
1. Stock CoD
------Stock Maps
------Third Party Maps
2. Hardcore CoD
3. Promod
4. Other Mods
------Insert mods here
Four threads. We'll organize game type within each section.
I feel like this is a good idea and will benefit the crew in the coming months. I think that if we do this right and create good, accessible lists, then we could benefit from this whole thing. I think it could result in more visits to the site. I haven't seen anyone step up to do this, yet.
Just an idea. Not a whole lot of work. Just a little organization.
