regarding the original name of the krew i wonder why no one is playing it ;)

FPS in an open world. No pay to win, all is cosmetic, everything (or almost) can be earned in game. Monthly update with new gameplay/cosmetic content. Once you got the game, nothing more to pay if u does'nt want to...

You own 1 ship and 2 weapons to survive: Sword, Flintlock, Blunderbuse (shootie) or Sniper + 5 nades. Every guns fire in single shot mode. 2-3 shoot you're dead. You can collect fruit to heal, canonballs to shoot on other ships and enemies, fish more than 50 kind of fishes. You can collect gold, skeletons skulls and merchand supplies to get game and gold. But if your ship sunk you have a loooot of chance to loose the collected stuff u have on it.

PVE mode: A well writed and complex Lore, a adventurous quest in the fog of the seas at the search of The Golden Shores, a cursed land where gold is everywhere. Pirate, Ghostships, Skeletons and adventure. 10 Quest (from 1-3hours of play), leading you on luxurious isles.
BUT...also a bad mf that place random event under your feet when u don't need them...like fighting a skeleton ship while getting attacked by a kraken right after u killed a megalodon...( a pretty common day on sea of thieves :p)
And the best part is that you have to bring the loot to an outpost to get the reward...leaving time and space to other event to occur...

PVP mode: fighting other krew while PVE. They want to sink you, they want to kill you, they want your loot. Even if they look friendly...the game is called Sea of thieves...dont expect carebears there! ^^

Playing solo is not impossible (its just the Hard Mode) but playing with friend makes the game more enjoyable and a little easier. Count at least 3hours/session to get progress from a playing session. This is not a game that you play 15min at a time.

Last Update:

I totally recommand it as the game is technical in term of gameplay, as much for the boating part, than the pvp part, but can be played in a lot of manner where u can find your fun, you can be a sneaky pirate hiding on other ship until they get enought loot to attack them from the inside or be a bully and try to sink every ship you see, or be an adventurer who fight only when he needs to. Every game doesn't end raped by another krew and sometimes you loot some wonderfull items from other players boat that you just sunk in flames and fat pirate laughs! And some times you just live adventures with ghost pirates and sea creatures.

i3 processor is enough to make it run...but not as smooth as i'd want. 30fps is low, but with water/character/shadow texture in high :S could make it run 60fps with water in normal ^^
Count an i5 or better and you'll have no problem.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1172620/Sea_of_Thieves/

That would have been a wonderful game for the krew in the good old days...Imagine Kaptain Krunch Krew on seas ^^

U need a X-Box account to join friends in game even with steam version... add me in the xbox gamebar (Windows+G by default to open it) Tag: CaimanSolo
usually playing from 20h to 23h GMT+2 with two friends (both french speakers) but since i joined this krew i live on other time so im up to play later ^^

Adding friend in-game is a lil bit a PITA as you have to play the "make friend " emote in front of the guy and he has to respond...then it open a xbox friend list browser and it works... -_- ...like stone age of gaming.
So better know the people you play with ^^

Give it a try with friends if u can...

I also recommand watching some stream and tutorial after u started the game cause a lot of things are not explained. No yellow arrow pointing at your objective, no futuristic GPS stuff to lead you to what you have to do. Nor how to use the canons properlly or sail with effectiveness or little tips for a good start you have in certain games.
(you can find walkthrought and Wiki on internet of course).

For beginner tutorials

Be prepared to get frustrated and raped on the first days of play ^^

I like that it doesn't just tell you where to go - i miss having to actually read stuff or figuring out on your own, as long as there is a way to find out like how some games you have to follow random directions that youd have no way of finding out

i am watching some gameplay before i buy the game though just to be sure was thinking of looking for a pirate/seafaring game for a little while

every time stamp are estimation ;)

tonight's resume:
09.00pm
Session starts...Stuffing boat and pirates (20-30min)
Went out to kill the Ghost fleet...
Fight start...we get sunk in no time...
Back to outpost with new ship...re-stuffing (10min)
Back to the Fleet
Killed the ghost fleet (40-60min)
Went to outpost to get gold out of loot, encountered players who were salvaging a shipwreck near to the outpost. Made them leave the proximity of OUR outpost
Then a Skeleton sloop popped...
Killed the sloop...(3min)...players ran away...

10.30pm
We hopped server to find a new fleet...
Instead there was a Skeleton fort active...
So lets destroy the fort...
stuffing boat (10min)
While sailing to the fort a kraken popped under us...
Flee the kraken
server merged (dynamic system to keep server populated and not just one boat playing alone) and fort disappeared leaving an active skeleton fleet instead...
Went to a fort to get explosive barrels to sink skeleton galleons easily...took 6 of them.
Finally start sailing to Skelly Fleet with not enough canonballs...a shit tons of planks (wich is gonna save our ass...survivability is the key)

on zone:
Fleet starts...two skellies sloop...and another player sloop.
Fight starts, canonballs rains from everywhere on every ships.
Skeleton sloop sink easy, then the galleons comes in play...and we still fighting the sloop...
Tactical retreat to a rocky isle to get cover and let the sloop fight against the galleons, repair, bail water and recover then get back to fight...
We chased the sloop with a galleon til they were far enough from us with enough damage to occupy them for the next 5 min consuming resources to save their ship. Then we went back to fight the fleet. We were there for that...not to sink real people.

Last part against the galleons, skeleton ships can repair their damage but they can't bail out water...so the goal is make damage then go inside and keep them from repairing their ship...or you also can throw water bucket over their board to fill their boat with water ^^
After a more or less epic fight (crashing the boat in the rock didn't looked epic at all) we sunk the two galleons almost simultaneously...
Yeah! Cheers mate! Let's get the loot...

And it was at this moment that the server went totally crazy...

While we were harpooning our loot...a kind megalodon showed up.
That could have been something that we could have handled without big problem...
But server decided to put a new galleon in addition of the meg...

So the loot (a lot of loot) is in the water, we are anchored in the middle of the ocean, we have like 10 canonballs in stock (still 150 planks) and there's a 15T shark and a galleon turning around us, bullying us with 8 canons and a mouth full of teeth ramming us every 30 sec...oh...and did i mentionned the 7 small sharks in the water around our boat preventing us to get the loot by swimming?

Two started to repair and the third one was still trying to harpoon the loot until the moment when we really had to move...leaving more than half of the fleet's loot in the water...
We finally escaped the megalodon...but the galleon finally got us...my crew mates died from well placed canonballs. Leaving me alone to repair. Took 10 sec to the water to hit the ceiling and the boat was done...

One of the mate respawned, took the new ship and went from the island he was to our swimming asses with our poor floating loot...we finally managed to get some gold in our pocket...but tonight: Not as much as intended :D

00.30am
Time to get a grog at the tavern and get some rest ^^

ya just played a bit of sea of thieves - definitely a game to play with others as it'd take quite a bit of used to doing everything even on the sloop. Ended up fighting a trio of players as I couldn't tell if they were gunna attack me or not - they sailed right up to my ship while i was on an island and looked like they were gunna 'loot' it(though i just started so there was nothing) - so i attacked em while i still had a chance and killed a couple and since i couldnt destroy their ship easily i decided to set it to sail out to sea and jumped off before they respawned.

Realized after i was probably a bit overly aggressive but i wasnt sure at the time

Better be the first to kill to get owned by noob pirates ^^ but their intentions weren't to sink you if you can had your boat still sailing after the encounter...and mainly if they didn't chased you after you killed two of them:)

Sometimes you find friendly peoples, and more than often when you are a starting player people just see that you're new, check your boat and leave or sink it with no mercy to tell you a lesson depends of the mood.

Don't park with anchor and sails down ^^ Pay attention that your canons are not facing the beach, and get ready to leave quick at all time :)

Sinking a ship alone require to board it, raise anchor, set sail, turn the boat facing an island and let if sail!
You have to spawn control them while doing it. Use their food in their supply crate, reload your weapon in their ammo crate and steal blunder bomb to make them bounce out of the ship at repop.
[DOUBLEPOST=1593034828][/DOUBLEPOST]Good advice is to play open crew arena to start practicing sailing on flat water and mechanics of firing canon, boarding, melee fight. And maybe get some contact to play :)

they did sink my boat afterwards - before i took theirs but it didnt happen until after i had attacked - but as i said one swam up to my boat kinda regret it but i kept seeing lots of people attack right away in videos so wasnt sure

Also they didnt really get a chance to go after me(after i i used a mermaid after jumping off and it brought me and a new ship pretty far away so by the time i made it back to the island( i needed a treasure chest there ). Part of the reason why i set it out to sea was in case they wernt hostile to begin with

Next time though ill try to talk to em first THEN attack if they say nothing

Also ya my boat wasnt in any position to move when they showed up - i got lucky i didnt beach it first time around

Avoid crews starting their approcha by yelling "Friends?" or "Lets make an Alliance" for my experience its fishy and always end with my boat sinking ^^ im too kind...Last time we let a galleon, who was offering alliance, stop right next to us...they asked if they could board our ship politely, answered yes...then i took a sword rush in my teeth like 5 sec later, all my crew died in no time. So always pay attention and be a little suspicious imo. Since that we barely try to make friends on sea anymore ^^ Tends to fire before asking questions ^^

Turning round an island today to get to the outpost, we felt on a brig parked in canon cove, ass to sea...with no one guarding on board.
Filled the boat with canonballs without warning, when i borded them the ship was already full of water...leaving just a damaged rawboat...
My friend left me on the island to sail to the nearest outpost saving the loot we had...while i was looking for the players as one texted "hey!" followed by a sad emote when their ship sunk...so i knew someone was there ^^ Also knew that there was ammo crate on island, so was ready to fight ^^

Quick run then i saw one on the beach looking at his quest...i landed two 50m shot with flinlock on him while the other one was bringing the rawboat. Sword fight engaged. Run. Fight. Gun. Heal. Fight. Gun. Run. Fight. Heal. Gun...etc...he finally killed me as i missed an easy shot and a heal step ^^ We went back 5min later with the brig full of canonball (looks like we learned something yesterday^^) to get their loot (2 skulls and a chest) and maybe get a round 2 of sword fighting with the guy but no one was there anymore ^^

Last night session was....mmmmh...strange...

we were doing tall tale in duo...
(i felt a karma swing back to our face as the guy from last night were doing the same tale we did today ^^ )
Anchored at Canon cove we saw a sloop coming, all sails up and running right at us.
Raise anchor, load canon, turn them to face the coming ship and politely asking:
"Hey guys, what do you want from us?"
Guys didn't responded. One guy came swimming while the other took around the island with the boat.
Replaced our boat to face the other side with canons...and i saw a fat pirat swimming right to us...Flintlocked him still politely...then the ship came back from the other side of canon cove...
Took 3-4 bullets on him, he responded, then said...

the guy -We are doing the tall tale...
Me -Same...
-wich one? 8?
-yep...Lets be relax then! ^^

We slowly parked our boat...and continue to look after that stupid hidden skull...when i suddently feel a presence behind me. One of the guy was reading my tale book over my shoulder then asked: You need help?
I showed him my book and he ran alomst directly at the place i was looking for...

I said thank you...took my chest...and ran to my boat. looking behind me every two seconds to avoid getting shoot in the back. Yelled thank you guys while we were leaving the island.

Tall Tales end...must go to an outpost to finish it...And the guys are at the same outpost...
My mate asked what we do?
Easy i said...we'll see...
We parked next to us, gave back the lil loot we have at the same time of them...and the session ended with a 1812 quatuor on the dock in the middle of two burning ships... ^^

Simply AWESOME! First time in 1month+ of play that a session end like that. Smart players (both legend) who knew that they would have earned nothing from us or us from them...except both loosing time and getting frustrated...Its pleasant to see a session run like that :)

Because Pirate tales are made to be told... :)

Tonight we had the most epic steal of these game...

There's an event on the server called "Fort of the damned" wich is one of the most rewarding event but also one of the hardest mainly cause there's always other pirates coming to try steal/kill you while your doing it...
It's a kind of fortress full of skeletons, you have to grab some colorfull flame on your lantern to enlight the skeleton before you can kill them...there's six colors. At the end, there's a vault full of precious stuff...including "the Athena chest"...wich is the reward that makes everyone comes there (worth 5000gold...wich is nothing but stealing one of these is always better for the moral than 100Kgold in this game ^^)

We came with my krew to try to steal, we we're three...Swimming in the middle of the sharks to get to the fort. Fog was all around us. Giving to the canon blasting around the fort a blury sound. There was someone there!!!
My friends were killed by a bunch of starving sharks while i was reaching the fort shore.
I started to hide knowing that there were people here, a reaper sloop was turning around the island, fighting with a skeleton ship.
Wait was about to start as Fort of the Damned is a story of patience when you are not actively doing it.

*devilish smile*

My friends came back with a rawboat (wich makes you almost invisible on sea) to hide around the fort with me.

We watched these 2 guys in the sloop hardly defending their meal for about 1h30...They fought against 2 skeleton galleons, one players brig who came back like three times before they quit, a Flameheart Ghost Fleet. Doing the skelly wave and the boss at the same time...These guys were Legend. Til they die from the boss...

When they came back, i guess one saw me running off the island to get to my hiding spot...He came to me, i took my sword and the guy started to say:

Him holding his sniper rifle-"Dont do that!"
Me holding my sword- "I don't do that if you don't do this!"
H-How long u been there...
M- A loooong time...
H- where's your boat?
M- Prolly park alone somewhere.
Then me and Captain Dean entered in a polite chat, sitting on a rock...
He explained what they did on the last hour.
I offered to help against the last skeleton and the boss.
Meanwhile, one of my friend was slowly lurking to their ship while the other was still awaiting.

Me and my new friend got back to the inside of the fort, i killed two skeleton then the boss died under the hit of Dean's teammate.
Generally at that point, people start to dies as pirates are tricky people ^^ But not this time, i helped them to get the loot out, placing it at the right point. Then Dean offered me:

H-"You can have all you want BUT NOT the Athena Chest!"
M- Nah thats cool i understand, im not in need, i'll take what you'll leave...This skull and this ruby are fine"
Him and his friend both staring at me...i was expecting gunshot or sword kill...but nothing
H- Thanks for the help dude, that was nice...Here wanna hold my parrot?
M-Thats a nice parrot...Ok guys good luck on seas, thanks for the skull and the ruby...

And the two guys leave in their boat to the reaper hideout with all their loot to sell...

That could have been a nice story of new frienship on the seas...BUT...

Meanwhile...this is what happened...

When the two guys opened the vault they took the athena chest to an upper dock, u generally place it there before harpooning it from your boat. Like that you don't run and don't take the risk to get killed.
My first friend on their boat harpooned the chest, and jumped in the water...started to swim away with it. While Me and the other guys were emptying the vault and stacking loot on the dock.
My other friend took one of the three abandonned rawboat wich was around the island and took the swimming one away...They left to the norst east nearest outpost at full speed with the Athena.

I would have seen the face of these two kind guys when they arrived at the hideout and surely noticed that there was NO ATHENA on their boat.

Generally athena steal on the Fort of the Damned ends in hard battle between three or four krew, shooting everywhere, with boat running away with the loot while other chase it.

We managed to get the athena without even shooting one bullet from our guns ^^
Who's the boss? :p
