I'm all for non GMO.

It was put on the ballot here in OR, but the public being the public voted it down. It was razor thin, but in the end big money won out (more was spent on this measure by big food than any other initiative) Now we have modified Salmon ffs. Half the stuff in big retail is falsely labeled as well. Why does this happen? The head of the FDA is the head lobbyist (and a former exec) of Monsanto. :smh:

I agree GMOs should be labeled. And I agree that some GMOs are bad. But many GMOs have been in your food far longer than you realize, and have no impact compared to the non GMO alternative. The fact of the matter is, the GMO bill that was proposed in Oregon was very poorly worded, and would have allowed food with GMOs to continue to be labeled non GMO and causing somethings with trace amounts of GMO to be labeled as GMO.
The whole "GMOs are bad" fad is so old and outplayed. For the most part, GMOs are not bad, at all. They provide for more sustainable farming. While I agree, Monsanto has some less than savory business tactics, their product is far from unsavory

Shock: Ukrainian army volunteer fighters looted museum in the Netherlands

The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf published an interview with the director of the museum of Western Friesland - Arthur Brandt, where he said that the 24 paintings stolen from the museum 10 years ago, located in Ukraine in the hands of militants battalions. The militants are demanding a ransom of $ 50 million. And the negotiation process, according to Brandt, the leader of the party involved in "Freedom" Oleg Tyagnibok and former head of the SBU (Ukrainian special service - analog FBI) Valentin Nalyvaychenko. Holder paintings is zamkomandira battalion OUN (Ukrainian Nazy) Boris Gumenyuk.
The very theft of paintings took place in Horn in 2005. Unidentified attackers stole 20 paintings by Dutch masters of the XVII century (including such well-known artists such as Jan van Goyen, Jan Lins Vaben and Jacob), as well as many antique silverware. The total value of the stolen exceeds $ 13 million.

Yea and your absolutely right, that's why big money is spent on things like this because they know the public is figuring out why the stuff in these foods are bad and want it labeled, and what it would do to the frankinfish and frankinfoods that they create from this stuff. They would lose M if not B$ if this happened, it needs to happen because people have the right to know they are being sold food that has all the toxic chemicals in it. The good part is that people are waking up to it and that it was put on the ballot, that is proof that many of us want the choice to know if our food is food or frankinfood.

"Measure 92 arbitrarily exempts from its labeling requirements two-thirds of the foods we buy — even if they are made with or contain GMOs. For example, under Measure 92 meat and dairy products would be exempt from labeling, even if they come from animals raised on genetically engineered feed or injected with GE medications. This conflicts with existing national labeling standards for “organic” and “non-GMO” labels for these products."

Like I said, the bill up for vote in Oregon was poorly written and fixing it's mistakes if it had been successfully enacted would take far longer than writing a new measure and passing it.
I am more interested in your opposition to GMOs, blubird. They have been in your food since the mid 1990s and I have known you since around 2009, yet I have never heard you complain about GMOs until now. And still you act like people are finally waking up to GMOs when you yourself lived with them for 20 years perfectly fine and seem to only have "woken up" in the last year. Yes, be conscious of what you eat, but GMOs aren't even close to the worst thing out there. The meat industry in America is far worse and doesn't GE the majority of their products.

Yes, you right. They are accusing each other of criminal. When Avakov told Saakashvili go out of Ukraine, Saakashvili answered that he is ukrainian. And he is right here :picard: Saakashvili was expelled of Georgian citizenship an he is citizen of Ukraine.

BTW, Putin comments this event:
"The fact that they swear in Russian is good. Well at least not in Georgian or Ossetian. But this is like laughter, is a tragicomedy some"
